VEC Introduction to Season 18 - Next chapter, same legacy!

Yeah Agreed.
LMU has failed us, i have ZERO trust in them now.
Please can we just keep using RF2!
right now ACC is looking good as it has Nords. and i freaking hate ACC.

We went 5 endurance race on rFactor2 during official Swaps endurance racing on LMU - we don´t had teams. We went glad for 15 cars on grid. Many leagues moving/canceling races... LMU destroy rF2.. :( LMU destroy community leagues... :( I cancel many endurance races during 2025 - becouse many players waiting for LMU.... so - yes, its great to racing rf2 - but i dont know who want to racing in rF2 now.... :(

How many complaints I see here! LMU hasn't let anyone down. The game is still in development. Jimmy rushed into starting the championship and even more so into asking for entry fees without knowing for sure that LMU would provide the private servers for teams. It's been a shame for everyone, yes, but we have to wait and this championship will take place when the private servers for teams are available. Let's face reality. This whole thing was done to do something without knowing if it would be available or not, just to keep the annual revenue from the championship. Unfortunately, it hasn't been available for two years because, I repeat, it's still in development.

What would have happened if it had been available a year ago? With all the changes to the Balance of Performance, the systems, the tracks, the options, the unfixed bugs, everything would be a disaster for the championship and for Jimmy, given all the changes the game has undergone. The best thing is to wait until everything is more complete and polished so we can enjoy it. If everything had started a year ago, it would all be a disaster with so many changes and fixes in the game. Think about it. You choose a car, and in two months that car gets a BOP and you don't like it anymore. What do you do? Are you stuck with the car all season? Or is the engineer mode not working, or is the driver change system not functioning properly? Everything is much better now than it was a year ago. I repeat, it's better to wait until everything is more polished.

I can certainly share some of your comments and I agree with most of them.

However, it is important to note that the S397 team has also over promised multiple times and the general public has to believe in the promises they made. Is it a better product than at launch? 100%, but they also promised that driver swapping and full support to the endurance races would come in the update v1.0 in July of 2025, and it didn't happen. A year has gone by and it didn't happen, so I also understand what others claim that the LMU team failed them. Especially when a championship of this caliber with a significative investment made from the teams to participate.

I understand both sides and it has been a pain for all since Jimmi believed in making the jump in the 25-26 season while everything had to be kicked back a year to 26-27, which is time and money lost for everyone. The only thing that's possible to do right now, is to wait for the v1.4 announcement on July 4th and see what S397 does, which at this point is... Not good.

I partly agree that Jimmy might have been too naïve to think s397 and msg are reliable enough to think they would release a feature they announced to be released over a year ago. Then again, then saying a few times it would be delayed, which Jimmy took into consideration could happen, and then after they said that it would release in the next big update (which was December), they stopped talking about it completely, even avoiding talking about it.

This from my experience reeks like a decision from the top, even though it's ready, they want to delay it as it boosts other numbers from their own servers. This is something Jimmy can't have foreseen after them talking about it so confidently that it would release so soon. After 1.0 I would also argue you can't keep using the "but it's in development" thing, as it should already have it's most important features.

If you look to server price, i dont think that S397 servers is profitable... so, i think with Hosted Servers they loosing more than just release Dedicated app with RaceControl Pro support...

Assuming you also paid the entry fee, you made the same bet everyone else did on LMU's forecast.

Ongoing development doesn't excuse an indefinitely delayed feature.

Full blown season - whenever we get some real info we can plan dates - not really keen on setting dates now just to do the same thing over again.

Thank you for your patience - it’s been a boring and very much strange year.

Note: SRC as a company have had to be closed due to my previous job let me go. Whether or not it will start up again I do not know. Some rules regarding this in Denmark and insurance. If not don’t worry the season that has been promised will be done regardless.
We have already paid for servers, team speak and website. So double that for a season that didn’t happen since it’s been moved to a new “year”

Once we get going (which I honestly can’t wait for) it will be a season where pro council again will be included in votes on tracks etc, given there have been added tracks there is a need to re-vote. Everyone else will get the info just as fast, just not able to vote.
Jimmy can you message me, im unable to message you

Holy shit, the discord community has become worse than iRacings. PEople are outright defending this behaviour from MSG/S397. I feel like I am very done with sim racing in general now. I will just give ACR a shot, but this is just disgusting

You are not alone in this path. I support 100% of your words. Funny fact is that in the group of blind supporters of every MSG decission are full old haters of MSG and rf2. I can understand how you, the people who spent lot of time playing and helping others in rf2 in forums and discord, feel very dissapointed.
